Bum Briefing #13

This is going to be a short one because not going to lie, that sucked. When they said the recovery could take up to 14 days they left out the part where that time is spent in debilitating pain that no pain medication can take away. After eleven days in the hospital I’m finally home. 

The surgery itself was great. They gave me amnesia drugs so I don’t remember a single thing. I remember the pre-op room and woke up in the post-op room, 7 hours later… The surgeon said the tumor area looked to be mostly scar tissue, we’ll find out on the 5th when we meet with the primary oncologist to go over the full pathology. 

I would consider this the half way point in the marathon portion of the Ironman. Now is the time to lean into the discomfort and keep pushing. Beth has had to run this marathon with me so keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
